Founder & CEO
Girish Jhunjhnuwala, Winner of 2016 EY Entrepreneur of the Year for Hong Kong & Macau Region, is the lifelong entrepreneur, founder and visionary behind Ovolo Hotels in Hong Kong and Australia. From his start in the family watch business to the discovery and development of the first Ovolo in 2002, Girish has always been about challenging industry convention, thinking differently and creating intuitive new concepts that deliver from a genuine customer’s point of view.
The Ovolo Hotels experience is driven by his detail-driven management approach and understanding of today’s traveller. Central to this is a signature all-inclusive service concept, a promise to guests that once checked-in all key touch points of the hotel are truly free – from the Breakfast, in-room minibar, unlimited use Wi-Fi, and laundromat through to a 24/7 ‘Lo Lounge’ with free daily happy hour and more. This is joined by Ovolo’s bespoke hotel designs, rich in natural light and smartly spaced interiors with abundant socket placement and amenities for guests to use their many traveling e-devices. It’s all the little personalized touches Girish has added after a lifetime of travel, that make the Ovolo brand standout amongst a legion of newer millennial brands.
Under Girish’s leadership, Ovolo has quickly grown from one property into a diversified international hospitality company that currently owns and operates a collection of nine individually designed properties in Hong Kong and Australia, with more in the pipeline as of 2015.
