Strike Pose – Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia is back!
Fashion folks and dashing darlings! Get ready for Fashion Week Australia in Sydney
Calling all foxy fashionistas and sassy frock stars from near and far! The world’s most influential fashion media and retailers are headed to Sydney for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia to experience the fabulous runway extravaganza – and you can too!
Last year’s Fashion Week in Sydney presented collections from over 55 designers including Georgia Alice, Ginger & Smart and We Are Handsome to name a few.
As expected, the annual star-studded event wasn’t short of glamorous parties, glitzy models, ‘It-girls, WAGs, editors and fashion bloggers, all claiming the first row seats.
Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar Australia’s respective Editor-in-Chiefs Edwina McCann and Kellie Hush were among the heavyweights together with Aussie fashion bloggers Nicole Warne, Nikki Phillips, Nadia Fairfax, Eleanor Pendleton and Margaret Zhang.
And there weren’t just cocktails and canapés we got a taste of, divas and dramas were on the menu too.
I’m of course referring to Bella Hadid’s infamous hotel tantrum. Accused of ‘bratty behaviour’ the youngest Hadid-sister was crowned last year’s diva when swapping a CBD hotel room for a whopping $1000 per night Suite at the Old Clare. Reason being? The brunette beauty insisted the Sydney’s Half Marathon was too noisy and would keep her awake. A model needs her beauty sleep, right?
So what can we expect from this year’s Fashion Week?
Taking place between 14 -19 May at Carriageworks, Eveleigh in Sydney, the iconic Harbour City is, once again, the perfect backdrop for this swanky affair which is expected to be equally fabulous as previous years.
And there’s great news for any fashion enthusiast – you don’t need to be a designer, media (drama queen) or even in the industry to get a slice of the action. Consumers are exclusively invited to the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition (19 -20 May) with tickets going on sale in April.
You’ll be able to experience the runway like a pro by frolicking with celebrities and getting a taste of plunging necklines, organza dresses and sassy cuts from Australia’s top designers.
Fashion Week isn’t just the perfect opportunity to get the style memo for next year’s trends, you will also be able to rub shoulders with top editors, style icons, illustrators and designers – pretty dapper!
If this isn’t glamorous enough for you, as a proud sponsor, Sydney’s most stylish boutique hotel group, Ovolo, will turn things up a notch by transforming Ovolo Woolloomooloo into an out-of-this-world Fashion HQ.
The all-inclusive boutique hotel with its perfect location, effortless style and impeccable design is the chosen central meeting spot and also the host of this year’s local and international fashion tribe.
For fashionistas missing out on securing tickets to the actual Fashion Show – there’s no need for tears and mascara smeared panda eyes and cancelling your flights to Sydney. With Ovolo Woolloomooloo’s incredible transformation, guests will still feel like they’re part of the actual show, with the hotel broadcasting the runway directly from Carriageworks. The chic hotel will also serve up fashion inspired cocktails and dining menus as well as inviting hotel guests to attend afterparties, model castings and photo shoots held across various areas of the hotel. All that coupled with world-class hospitality will guarantee an unforgettable stay.
Start to prep your outfits ladies (and gents) and get the ultimate runway experience by securing a Front Row seat at Weekend Edition (tickets are available in April so stay tuned on The Silver Egg for more exclusive updates) http://mbfashionweekended.com.au/tickets
