How to make the first move at the AIA Great European Carnival

So there’s been a little flirting. The exchanges of more-than-friends texts have been ongoing but nothing has been spoken of publicly. “The time is right” you think to yourself. You’re looking to taking it to the next level – but how?

Look no further and make your way to the annual AIA The Great European Carnival! With love and festivities in the air, it’s the perfect place to make fingers touch without being too obvious. Follow our simple steps and you’ll be reaching first base in no time. You’re welcome in advance.

FOR HIM:

You’ve got this girl, who’s clearly responding to you, but you’re hoping to get a little closer. Now, there are many ways to make the first move in an ever-so-subtle way.

Score a teddy bear

Who doesn’t like taking home a ginormous teddy bear? The new game booths feature over 1,000,000 toys including Trolls for the newest Dreamworks movie as well as characters from Marvel, Sesame Street, and Super Mario! So practice your hoops, work on aiming the targets, because every toy you score for her is a point you score for yourself.

Initiate a Selfie

Girls love taking photos. Girls love it even more when you initiate it. With new and exciting characters strutting the streets, this is your opportunity to shine. Choose a character and casual say, ‘oh look it’s ____________’ and walk over and reach for your phone, and snap a photo. Guaranteed to bring the two of you a little closer. (Plus, there’s an excuse for you to get a photo with your crush!)

Go for something Hot

Baby it’s cold outside. Although barely comparable to the winters of the west, it can get a little chilly, especially with Hong Kong’s humidity! Surprise her with something hot! With an array of hot gourmet dishes and drinks, you’ll be able to feel her heart warming up to you.

FOR HER:

You’ve got this guy, who’s been texting you, but you’re hoping to get a little closer. You obviously want him to make the first move but it’s up to you to set up the scene. Here’s how:

Scream a little louder (it’s not what you think)

The Carnival has got some pretty terrifying rides. From the Atmos Fear and Mach 5 to No Limit, this is the opportunity to let the little girl inside of you out. And even if you’re not scared, well act scared. The more frightened you are, the more likely he’ll give you a pat on the shoulder, or even a hug! (better than nothing right?)

Shiver a little

You may perhaps want to drop hints that you’re cold, in hopes of him lending you his jacket or casually putting his arm around your shoulder to warm you up. Ask to take a walk through the European Market. As you walk through, shake your body a little and say something along the lines of “oooh it’d a bit cold isn’t it!” And if he doesn’t initiate anything after that, then (excuse me but) NEXT!

Opt for the Kiddy Games

Nothing more romantic than a walk-through memory lane. Ride the carousel and bring back memories of his past (because you know a guy won’t initiate that but he won’t say no either!) or challenge each other in a game of bumper cars. The higher the challenge, the hotter the fire.
